BIOPHILIA

A solo exhibition by Belinda Camacho Valencia

Before we learned to build cities, we belonged to forests. Before we named the rivers, we flowed with them. Somewhere beneath the noise of modern life, that ancient memory still lives within us.

Biophilia is a journey back to that memory—a collection of paintings that celebrates the quiet intelligence of nature and our deep longing to reconnect with it. Each work becomes a space for contemplation, where color, texture, and symbolism invite us to remember that we are not observers of nature, but expressions of it.

Presented in collaboration with Georgia Tech, Biophilia brings together artistic practice, scientific curiosity, and immersive technology. Alongside the paintings, visitors are invited into an immersive virtual reality experience that extends the exhibition beyond the canvas, creating a multi-sensory journey where art, nature, and technology
converge. Together, they open a conversation about our relationship with the natural world and the possibilities of imagining a more connected future.

"We do not stand apart from nature.

We breathe with it, remember through it, and return to it."

Trees don’t leave the ground to grow.

They stay connected as they rise.

Growth doesn’t take us away It keeps us rooted.

STILLNESS

STILLNESS

Trust what silence is quietly creating.
Not all growth asks to be seen.

Nature doesn’t search for where it belongs.

It already is. Nothing is missing.

We, too, are enough when we embrace ourselves.
